Mrs Odelia Somers Wood Massie, 84, widow of Arnold Douglas
Massie, died early yesterday at the home of her son, Ira D. Massie, Rt. 1
Monroe, after an illness of two days.
Born in Nelson County, Nov. 11, 1872, she was the daughter of the
late James and Lou Height Wood. She was a member of Piney River
Baptist Church.
She is survived by four other sons, Hume W. Massie, Victoria, H.
Clyde Massie, Norfolk, and Magellan t. and Earston F. Massie, both of
Richmond; four daughters, Mrs. Clarence Godsey, Washington, Mrs. Odessa
Lewke, Fort Worth Tex, Mrs. E.F. Jones, Dry Fork, And Mrs. Joee Elges, St.
Louis; a sister, Mrs. L.P. Harvey, Rt. 4, Amherst; a brother, Tillie Wood,
Lnchburg; 24 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at Piney River Baptist Church
Friday at 2 p.m. with interment in Harwood Cemetery, Roseland. The body
will be WhittenFuneral Home until noon Friday when it will be taken to
the church.
